Job Description
Accounting:
- Support most aspects of accounting management, including production of monthly management accounts for group/subsidiaries;
- Assist in the preparation of financial statements in compliance with official guidelines and requirements;
- Account reconciliation and billing (invoicing);
- Raise payments and assist with payouts;
- Manage journal entries;
- Assist in monthly books closure;
- Analyse budget vs actual variance;
- Integral participation in the annual audit;
Controls/Monitoring/Reporting:
- Assist in the formulation of internal controls and policies to comply with legislation and established best practices;
- Review the company’s accounting information to identify and resolve inaccuracies or imbalances;
- Participate in development of reports for management or regulatory bodies;
- Assist in budgeting and forecasting;
- Identify and rectify discrepancies while assisting in the establishment of effective control systems;
Tax/VAT:
- Assist in the UAE VAT return preparation and filing;
- Assist in the UAE Income tax return preparation and filing (when implemented);
Skills
Minimum criteria:
- Proven experience as Assistant or Financial controller, accountant or other similar position;
- Excellent knowledge of accounting and financial processes (budgeting, financial closure, reporting etc.);
- Strong domain of Excel and knowledge of accounting software / ERP (e.g. Odoo, Sage, Dynamics);
- Solid knowledge of IFRS, UAE GAAP and regulations; other countries GAAP (EMEA region) is a plus;
- Ability and willingness to work in matrix structure, with different countries and cultures
- BSc/BA in accounting, finance
Additional criteria:
- Solid knowledge of IFRS, UAE GAAP and regulations; other countries GAAP (EMEA region) is a plus;
- Experience working in a Fintech, financial services, payments company is desired;
- Professional qualification / certification (e.g. ACCA, CPA) or party-qualified / previous auditor experience in the UAE is a plus.
